The Gray Man came out on Netflix on July 22.

Following the release of the highly anticipated Netflix original The Gray Man, fans are taking to Twitter to share their opinions on the film. Directed by the Russo brothers, the film made a lot of buzz for having an ensemble cast starring Chris Evans, Ryan Gosling, Ana de Armas, Rege-Jean Page, Dhanush and more.

The spy thriller attempted to take over the baton from franchises like Mission Impossible or The Bourne Identity with its elaborate action sequences and A-list cast members. The official synopsis of the film reads, "Court Gentry (Ryan Gosling) is The Gray Man, an elite ex-CIA operative whose reputation has branded him a formidable killer for hire. Gentry, code-named Sierra Six, is yanked from a federal penitentiary by his handler, Donald Fitzroy (Billy Bob Thornton) for a covert overseas assignment. While on a dangerous mission in exotic Bangkok with Agent Dani Miranda (Ana de Armas), Gentry discovers that a rescue team dispatched to pull him out has been given orders to assassinate him. Now Sierra Six becomes hunted across the planet by the psychotic Lloyd Hansen (Chris Evans), a former CIA colleague who'll stop at nothing to take him down."

The film was a clear attempt by the OTT giant to launch their own spy franchise but according to the fan reaction on Twitter things did not turn out as planned. Although a healthy dose of netizens appreciated the film and the overwhelming star cast, there were many who criticised the hyped film. With excessive media coverage, the outcome of the film seemed incomplete to the fans. Scroll down further to swipe through some fan reviews on social media.
