He-Man and the Masters of the Universe is gearing up for a grand theatrical release. Directed by Travis Knight, Nicholas Galitzine starrer fantasy action film will release in multiple languages including English, Hindi, Tamil, Telugu and Malayalam.
Release date of Masters of the Universe
The upcoming adaptation revives the iconic 1980s superhero He-Man and his legendary battle against arch-enemy Skeletor. The release date of the movie in India is June 5, 2026. The trailers have already generated excitement among fans by teasing large-scale action sequences, nostalgic references and an epic clash between the two powerful rivals.
Star studded cast of the fantasy epic
The film boasts an impressive ensemble cast led by Nicholas Galitzine, who steps into the role of He-Man and Prince Adam. Jared Leto plays the menacing Skeletor, while Idris Elba appears as Duncan, also known as Man-At-Arms.
The cast further includes Camila Mendes as Teela, Morena Baccarin as The Sorceress and Alison Brie in the role of Evil-Lyn. The combination of established Hollywood stars and beloved characters has significantly raised anticipation around the film.
About the film
The film follows Prince Adam, who crashes onto Earth as a 10-year-old after becoming separated from his magical Power Sword, the only link to his home planet, Eternia. Nearly two decades later, Adam finally rediscovers the sword and returns to Eternia, where he transforms into the mighty He-Man.
As the most powerful man in the universe, He-Man must protect Castle Grayskull and save Eternia from the evil forces led by Skeletor. The story explores the hero’s origins while building toward an intense battle between good and evil.
The screenplay has been written by Chris Butler from a draft by David Callaham and the Nee brothers. The film draws heavily from the original 1980s animated series, where Castle Grayskull served as the centre of He-Man’s powers and the primary target of villains including Skeletor, Hordak and the Snake Men.
