Henry Golding, who is best known for his role as Nick Young in Crazy Rich Asians, will be seen in the theatres this weekend with his new release Last Christmas. The actor stars opposite Game of Thrones alum Emilia Clarke in the rom-com. Apart from the Christmas-themed movie, Henry will also be seen in Guy Ritchie’s action-thriller The Gentleman. He will be seen sharing the screen with Matthew McConaughey.

While Henry expressed his wish to be McConaughey’s best friend, the actor revealed that he thought McConaughey hated him during the filming. During his recent appearance on The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon, Henry revealed he wanted to be his friend but ended up getting a death stare during their first interaction. Henry said,

"I remember going in on my first day and I was thinking, 'I'm going to be best friends with Matthew McConaughey. We're gonna go for Sunday walks in the park, we're gonna go for dinner, our wives will be best buddies, I'm gonna go for yogurt with him on Saturdays."

"He just looks at me with this killer stare and he's like, 'I'm McConaughey. No one told me that he stays in character and our characters hate each other, so I thought he hated me and my world just imploded," he added.

Well, that’s just a typical move from McConaughey but maybe he should think of skipping the death stare next time around. Henry went on to talk about his further interactions with McConaughey and admitted that despite not having a lot of scenes with him, he was one of the best persons on the set. The two are joined by an elite cast of Hollywood stars under the guidance of magician Guy Ritchie. The film is slated to release on January 24, 2020. Check out the video below:
