A prequel to Hunger Games is now being penned by Suzanne Collins and a film could also be made if all things fall into place. Scholastic made an announcement that it will be publishing Suzanne Collins’ next book, which will be a prequel to the Hunger Games trilogy on May 19, and this news has made the fans of the film even more happy. The new book which is yet to get a title, will be based in Panem, a good 64 years ahead of the events that took place in the first book.

It is believed that Lionsgate is not wasting any time in making plans for a big screen adaptation of this newly penned novel. They are said to be in touch with Collins throughout the process of the new novel as stated by the chairman Joe Drake. He further added that they eagerly looking forward of associating with Collins for the film as and when it goes on the floor.

The most interesting fact is that Collins is writing a well thought out story as the beginning to the Hunger Games, where the teenagers are forced to fight, or die to entertain the population and just do as the government wishes the people to do. The prequel will see a period where the tributes will be chosen for the 10th annual Hunger Games. All the fans of Hunger Games are sure to be prepared for an exciting book and a new film whenever it comes out in the theatres.
