It was in 1995 when we last saw the epic actor-director collaboration between Robert De Niro and Martin Scorsese. The movie was the critically acclaimed Casino. The Irishman marks the ninth collaboration between Robert and Martin. Along with De Niro, The Irishman also stars Al Pacino, Joe Pesci, Harvey Keitel, Anna Paquin, Bobby Cannavale and Ray Romano in pivotal roles. The crime genre film is based on Charles Brandt's bestseller I Heard You Paint Houses and the screenplay is written by Steven Zaillian.

In the Scorsese directorial, Robert takes centerstage as Frank Sheeran, a World War II veteran and hitman. Spanning across decades, we see life through Frank's perspective while dealing with the big mystery of Jimmy Hoffa's (played by Al Pacino) disappearance. According to Brandt, it was Frank who was Jimmy's murderer. Hoffa disappeared in 1975 and was declared dead in 1982. Now, we finally have the highly-awaited first look at The Irishman and it promises to be a gripping real-life drama on organised crime.

What's interesting to note is the digital de-aging technology used on the cast to make them look half their ages. It's the same reason why The Irishman took as long to make. The end results are pretty impressive so far!
