About 11 years ago, Robert Downey Jr took over the big screen and announced "I am Iron Man," in Iron Man. The 2008 release set the ball rolling for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. The movie laid the foundation for several comic book heroes to enter Hollywood and make Marvel Studios it is today. While there were Easter Eggs about the future carefully placed in the movie, Marvel Studios head Kevin Feige has now revealed that there was one huge reference embedded into the movie which was eventually deleted.

The MCU head featured in a video to talk about the deleted scene. He explained that Marvel is putting together a series of deleted scenes from the previous 22 MCU movies. The team decided to share one deleted scene over the weekend which belonged from the Iron Man movie. It featured Samuel L Jackson's Nick Fury. “We pulled some things out of that vault that we said, ‘We’ll never show this to anybody, put it away." We’re bringing them out, we’re putting them on this disc, and I’m about to show you a deleted scene that has never been seen by anyone before right now," he said in the video.

The video starts with Fury approaching Tony at the end of Iron Man to discuss the X-Men and Spider-Man. He talks talks about “gamma accidents, radioactive bug bites and assorted mutants” aka Hulk, Spider-Man and X-Men before he complains about dealing with "a spoiled brat who doesn’t play well with others and wants to keep all his toys to himself.” While it would have been a great scene for fans, it would have resulted in a lot of implications. Given that Spider-Man was with Sony and X-Men was under Fox, it would have invited trouble for the superhero franchise. While Spider-Man entered and exited MCU, the X-Men are now with Marvel.
