Director James Gunn who is busy with the film The Suicide Squad said while answering a fan query on his Instagram stories that he picked The Suicide Squad over other films that Warner Bros offered him to direct. As per reports by IndieWire, the director was given an open choice by Warner Bros with respect to choosing which ever film he feels he could best direct from a pool of films. The director who was fired from the director's job for the film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 by Disney for his infamous tweets replied to the fan saying he was most curios and excited about The Suicide Squad.

At this point, director James Gunn had already finished writing the film Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3's script. Now, all eyes are on the ace director James Gunn to see what magic he creates with The Suicide Squad. Previously, there were many casting calls floating around on the web for the film titled The Suicide Squad and director James Gunn responded saying that any casting calls for actors with the film's title as Suicide Squad 2 are not real.
The director who was brought back on board to direct the Marvel Studios film, Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 3 said that the sequel film is not called Suicide Squad 2 and that the fans and aspiring actors should not believe in the casting calls.
