He might be getting the last laugh on screen but Joker seems to have caused a lot of trouble for Warner Bros. The Todd Philips directorial is ruling the box office. The Joaquin Phoenix starrer is breaking box office records week after week and has generated the Oscar buzz. While DC fans are happy with the new Joker movie, Jared Leto isn't. It was previously reported that the actor, who played Joker in Suicide Squad, was upset and felt alienated after Warner Bros greenlit Philips' Joker.

Sources have told The Hollywood Reporter that the actor bent over backward to make sure Joker doesn't get made. However, things did not work out in his favour. Sources have told the international outlet's report states that following the drama that has unfolded at the camp, Leto could as well kiss Joker goodbye. The insider warns fans not to be surprised if Leto's Joker doesn't appear in Birds of Prey or in James Gunn's The Suicide Squad. "How do you play the Joker you established following [Phoenix]? It kind of ends his Joker run," the grapevine said.

To top it off, the report also suggests that Warner Bros wasn't impressed with Leto's technique of bringing Joker to life. For the unversed, the actor spent months getting under the skin of the character and added the fear element by “gifts” like a live rat to Harley Quinn actress Margot Robbie, bullets to Will Smith and more, according to THR. Adding to his misery, director David Ayer wasn't happy with Leto's portrayal of the DC mad villain either. However, the filmmaker took to Twitter to clarify that he wasn't unhappy with Leto. "That is inaccurate information. Not my words or actions," he tweeted.
