Back in 2012 and 2013, we saw the dream WWE match of all time between John Cena and The Rock at Wrestlemania 28 and 29. The major plot point in this memorable feud was John calling out Dwayne Johnson for leaving WWE in the high and dry and shifting his focus completely on a Hollywood career. However, Cena too is now following Dwayne's footsteps and is no longer a permanent fixture in WWE. Instead, the actor is slowly climbing up the Hollywood ladder himself.

Hence, during an interview with Sports Illustrated, the 42-year-old actor shared that he was wrong for calling out The Rock during their fued in WWE. "I’ve told Dwayne Johnson that when I called him out for a lack of love for WWE, I was wrong. I was ignorant. He loves WWE, but he goes from shooting one project to the next. He blazed a trail and I didn’t understand that, but now I totally understand," John shared and added, "I was wrong. It led to a good piece of business in WWE [at WrestleMania 28 and 29], but I was speaking from a point of selfish ignorance."

Furthermore, the Playing With Fire star reasoned that when you are filming for a movie, there's no way you can be in WWE at the same time. Giving an example, John stated that if he got hurt or broke his nose because of a match, it could jeopardise the entire film. Cena explains that movies force you to make a choice and he's excited to be a part of that world.
