The ending of Joker left fans in a daze as they were left with a cryptic two-way possibility when it came to the character of Arthur Fleck. *SPOILERS ALERT* When we see Arthur end up in a mental asylum after shooting Murray Franklin on his talk show, we're left to wonder if Arthur was actually Joker or the entire roundup of events that took place were only really a figment of Fleck's wild imagination. Many theories were instantly brewed and the imagination took over for the fans.

In an interview with the Los Angeles Times, Joaquin Phoenix revealed that for him, it's been "super interesting" to see how people have reacted to Joker and all of their reactions and answers to the Todd Phillips directorial are valid, according to the Oscar-nominated actor. "Normally you have to answer those questions. But this really is participatory and interactive. It's up to the audience. That's so rare, especially with a big studio movie, and I don't want to ruin that by saying, 'No, this is what it is.' To me, there are so many different ways to view this character and his experience that I don't think you can come up with a particular meaning," Joaquin added.

But does Phoenix have his own theory when it comes to the end of Joker? Well, yes! The 45-year-old actor personally believes that Arthur Fleck is the actual Joker. "But I don’t know. It’s just my opinion," Joaquin quickly clarifies.
