Dean Ambrose shocked the WWE Universe when it was announced that the popular wrestler was quitting the company post the expiration of his contract, in May 2019. After giving us a tease on Twitter with the return of Jon Moxley, AEW fans were left aghast as the wrestler made his debut during the Double or Nothing PPV. Jon ambushed both Chris Jericho and Kenny Omega post the main event and had the crowd on their feet chanting, "Moxley! Moxley" It was one of the most unexpected moments in wrestling history, in recent years.

While talking to the radio show, Flip The Strip, Jon revealed that his AEW debut trumped winning the WWE title at Money in the Bank 2016. It was in Las Vegas when Dean not only climbed on top of a ladder to retrieve the MITB briefcase but also beat his Shield brothers Seth Rollins and Roman Reigns to win his first and only WWE Championship. Jon revealed that winning the WWE Championship was always a dream since he was a kid. So, when he finally won, he thought it was pretty cool.

"This (AEW debut) totally trumps that. To stand on my own two feet, no WWE involvement whatsoever — even though they obviously made my name … but 12,000 people or however many people were there, chanting Moxley was an indescribably satisfying feeling," Moxley stated.
