Kelly Clarkson is channeling her state of mind into some soulful music. The singer and chat show host revealed in a recent appearance that ever since her divorce from estranged husband Brandon Blackstock, she has been writing songs and directing her energy in a positive way. Kelly was on a press junket for The Voice when she made the revelation and stated that it feels great to have such an outlet to pour your heart out.

For the unversed, Kelly and Brandon split after seven years of marriage in June 2020 citing irreconcilable differences. The couple are now figuring out their financial agreements. As for the custody battle over their two children River Rose and Remington Alexander, the matter is in the hands of the court.

Speaking about her current state of mind, Kelly told Entertainment Tonight, "I have written like 60 songs. It is an insane amount of getting it out. I think that's a blessing in itself. Anytime you go through some life, it's such an awesome thing to have that outlet, regardless of whether people hear it or not."

She added that it is indeed a gift to channel your feelings like this. "Whatever happens though, it is such a gift. I don't know how anybody, I'll just be real with you, goes through grief like divorce, any kind of grief, any kind of loss, without having an outlet like this," Kelly said.

The singer also added that she has not yet thought about releasing these songs.
