Michael B. Jordan took the internet by storm when talks of him making his directorial debut began to circulate. The star who stunned fans with his iconic appearance in Black Panther has achieved a new milestone by officially closing the deal of directing the third installment of Creed. According to MGM’s official announcement, Jordan will not just be acting in the Rocky reboot but will also produce and direct the much-awaited film which is all set to premiere on Nov. 23, 2022.

Speaking of how directing a film has always been something Jordan had looked forward to doing, he explained ‘timing’ had to be right. Further telling how ‘Creed III’ helped him better understand himself, he said, “I've grown more sure of who I am, holding agency in my own story, maturing personally, growing professionally, and learning from the greats like Ryan Coogler, most recently Denzel Washington, and other top tier directors I respect. All of which sets the table for this moment." The star explained the franchise is deeply ‘personal’ to him.

The first two installments of Creed were directed by Coogler and Stephen Caple Jr. respectively and earned nearly $400 million in the box office. Jordan continued, "I look forward to sharing the next chapter of Adonis Creed's story with the awesome responsibility of being its director and namesake." The film also stars Tessa Thompson and Phylicia Rashad. The producer of the first two Creed films, Irwin Winkler expressed his excitement over Jordan taking over the sequel, "I cannot overstate how thrilled we are to have Michael directing the third film in the Creed series".
