Mark Ruffalo joined the Marvel Cinematic Universe (MCU) in 2010 when he was cast unconventionally as Dr. Bruce Banner, who is better known as The Hulk. In The Avengers (2012), Mark was able to prove his mettle as an actor as he took on the role and added a fresh perspective to the big green monster. Over time, Bruce and Hulk together became a big part of the franchise, even though no solo films were in his tenure. Unlike the other OG 6 Avengers (Iron Man, Captain America, Thor, Black Widow and Hawkeye), the future of Hulk post Avengers: Endgame is up for debate.

In a recent interview with The Hollywood Reporter, Ruffalo got candid about why he feels people have fallen in love with the MCU. "It’s no mistake that people have fallen in love with the Marvel universe because they want to see a world that’s just. They want to see people who are fighting for the little guy, and on behalf of the little guy," the 52-year-old actor revealed to THR. Furthermore, connecting the dots with his latest outing Dark Waters, which is directed by Todd Haynes and sees the Oscar-nominated actor star as real-life corporate defense attorney Robert Bilott, Mark added, "And [Dark Waters] is a little guy fighting on behalf of other little guys."
