Marty Supreme is set in 1952 New York City, where Marty Mauser balances working at his uncle’s shoe store with his ambitions of becoming a champion table tennis player. Dreaming of winning the British Open and popularizing the sport in America, Marty steals money from his uncle to fund his trip to London. There, he becomes entangled with wealthy socialites, loses the championship final to Japanese player Koto Endo, and later tours internationally with rival Bela Kletzki.

Back in New York, Marty’s reckless lifestyle spirals further as he faces arrest, mounting debts, failed business ventures, and complicated relationships with his married childhood friend Rachel and actress Kay Stone. Desperate to pay fines and salvage his career, Marty hustles for money while becoming involved with gangsters, scams, and violent confrontations.

Eventually, Marty travels to Tokyo for an exhibition match against Endo, only to discover that it has been fixed to humiliate him. Refusing to be disgraced, he exposes the sham and demands a legitimate rematch, which he narrowly wins. Returning home after his turbulent journey, Marty reunites with Rachel at the hospital, confesses his love for her, and emotionally embraces a chance at redemption upon meeting her newborn child.

Marty Supreme stars Timothée Chalamet in the lead role and features Gwyneth Paltrow, Odessa A'zion, Kevin O'Leary, Tyler Okonma, Abel Ferrara, Fran Drescher, and several others in key roles.

Co-produced, co-written, and directed by Josh Safdie, the film marks his first solo directorial venture since The Pleasure of Being Robbed in 2008. The screenplay was co-written by Ronald Bronstein, while Daniel Lopatin composed the music.

Additionally, Darius Khondji served as the cinematographer, while Safdie and Bronstein handled the editing.
