While he has been busy with John Wick franchise, fans of Keanu Reeves are eager to see the actor return to the big screen as Neo in Matrix 4. As you know, Warner Bros is bringing the Matrix world back on the big screen. Which means, Neo and Trinity, played by Carrie-Anne Moss, will reunite after almost two decades. While not much is known about the remaining star cast's return and the plot, rumour has it that Warner Bros is on a hunt to cast a new actor to essay the role of a young Neo.

The Matrix 4 update comes from Variety reporter Justin Kroll. In an episode of the “My Mom’s Basement” podcast, he revealed that Warner Bros. is searching for a younger actor to essay Neo. This could mean fans would revisit a teenager or a young adult version Neo. The new update also reveals a new spoiler about the plot.

If the makers are roping in an actor to play a young Neo, the story could play with the concept of time. Matrix 4 could either adopt the traditional flashbacks to tell the tale. Or they could go the Avengers: Endgame way and travel through time. There are chances we could also meet the copies of the lead characters to establish twists. While we can only speculate, we have to wait for directors Lana and Lilly Wachowski to shed light on their plans in the near future.

While we wait to hear more, Reeves recently revealed the script of Matrix 4 is ready. He also confirmed that he has read it. Talking to Entertainment Tonight, he said he is "absolutely" excited about the movie and it boasts of an "ambitious" script. Are you pumped about Matrix 4?
