Meghan Markle has been a part of many firsts since she married Prince Harry in May 2018 and entered the royal family. The Duchess of Sussex has now created history as she became the first guest editor of British Vogue's September issue in the magazine’s 103-year history. Meghan guest-edited this issue and has thrown light upon women from all walks of life, each driving impact and raising the bar for equality, kindness, justice and open mindedness. In a post on the Sussex Royal Instagram page, it revealed that Meghan closely worked with the magazine's Editor-in-Chief over a period of seven months to curate the issue.

Titled 'Forces for Change', the issue features a candid conversation between the mother of one and former First Lady Michelle Obama. “These last seven months have been a rewarding process, curating and collaborating with Edward Enninful, British Vogue’s Editor-in-Chief, to take the year’s most read fashion issue and steer its focus to the values, causes and people making impact in the world today,” Meghan said in a statement.

The cover of the magazine features 15 trailblazing women and an empty spot, a mirror, so that when you hold the issue in your hands, you see yourself as part of this collective. The issue also features an interview between husband Prince Harry and Dr. Jane Goodall. The 15 women come from different backgrounds and are actors and models, politicians and authors, and advocates for everything from diversity and mental health to climate change and voting rights.
