Michael chronicles the life and rise of Michael Jackson, from his early years as the lead singer of the Jackson 5 to his emergence as the “King of Pop.” In the 1960s, Michael and his brothers, Jackie, Tito, Jermaine, and Marlon, are molded into a successful musical group by their strict father, Joseph Jackson. After being discovered and signed by Motown, the Jackson 5 achieved nationwide fame, with Michael quickly standing out as the group's biggest star.
As an adult, Michael embarks on a solo career under Epic Records, collaborating with producer Quincy Jones on the hit album Off the Wall. Struggling with the pressures of fame, insecurities about his appearance, and his father's controlling influence, Michael eventually breaks away from Joseph's management and takes charge of his own career.
Michael's success reaches unprecedented heights with the release of Thriller, which becomes a global phenomenon. Through groundbreaking music videos and iconic performances, he reshapes popular music and breaks barriers in the entertainment industry. Following a serious accident while filming a commercial, Michael recovers and reluctantly reunites with his brothers for the Victory Tour.
