Many new TV series premiered in 2021, but the year also saw the end of numerous famous titles. While some of the leaving series are available on major streaming sites, there are also a few long-running cable network titles on the list. Unfortunately for Netflix, the top-tier platform bid farewell to a number of popular programmes throughout the year. The impact of the coronavirus pandemic kicked off the decade on an unparalleled note. Production on the majority of film and television productions was delayed for a chunk of 2020 due to COVID. Many new releases were put on hold as a result of the delays, although numerous shows nevertheless ended in the first year of the new decade.

Due to continuous production delays, certain shows that were scheduled to conclude in 2020 were forced to extend their run until 2021. As a result, the list of TV titles expiring in 2021 may seem a little longer than in prior years. That being said, here's a list of 10 TV shows and web series that we bid goodbye to this year, whether due to cancellation or a creative choice.

Atypical

Atypical, Netflix's comedy-drama, officially came to an end in July 2021. Loyal Lucifer fans were overjoyed when Netflix revived the fantasy drama after Fox shelved it after the third season. The Tom Ellis-led series, which focuses on Lucifer Morningstar's escape from Hell for a life in Los Angeles, has developed a cult following. Season 5 was approved based on the increasing ratings when it was moved to Netflix. However, the service renewed the show in early 2021 for a sixth and final season. The news of the coming of the last season generated a lot of excitement among fans, and as soon as the new season started streaming, netizens wasted no time in viewing the episodes and termed the series as a satisfying end.

While Arrowverse welcomed a new series, Superman & Lois, in February 2021, the studio bid goodbye to Supergirl this year. Supergirl began its sixth and final season as part of The CW's midseason schedule in the months after the premiere of the spinoff. With Melissa Benoist's tenure as Kara Danvers coming to an end, the Arrowverse lost a second important character after the ending of Arrow.

Money Heist

Money Heist, one of Netflix's most-watched non-English programmes, concluded in two installments. The Spanish criminal thriller, which was originally planned to be a two-part limited series, was extended when Netflix acquired worldwide distribution rights. With the conclusion, audiences were once again glued to their screens as the ultimate robbery unfolded.

However, there is news that the world's "guilty pleasure" show will be continued in a new show which will premiere on Hulu and could drop in early 2022. It was also disclosed that the family would retain editing rights to the new programme, and that the broadcast will intentionally concentrate on the family's commercial ventures rather than just on family drama.
