Oprah Winfrey is a world-renowned talk show host and philanthropist who captured the hearts of millions, thanks to her kind heart and vibrant personality. While we are aware of her professional achievements, personally, Oprah is happily in love with author Stedman Graham since 1986. The couple got engaged in 1992, however, the wedding never took place. Talking to People magazine, Winfrey got candid about why she decided not to get married or even have children. After they got engaged, Oprah had bought an additional apartment in Chicago thinking that they will need room for children.

However, Winfrey admitted that while on The Oprah Winfrey Show, she realised that the people she spoke to were messed up because they had parents who were not aware of serious their job is. "I don’t have the ability to compartmentalize the way I see other women do. It is why, throughout my years, I have had the highest regard for women who choose to be at home [with] their kids, because I don’t know how you do that all day long. Nobody gives women the credit they deserve," Oprah shared honestly with People.

Winfrey also confessed that she doesn't think her relationship with Stedman would have lasted if they had gotten married. Funnily enough, Oprah has zero regrets about not getting married because she got to fulfill it in the ways that were best for the 65-year-old.

"The Oprah Winfrey Leadership Academy for Girls in South Africa. Those girls fill that maternal fold that I perhaps would have had. In fact, they overfill — I’m overflowed with maternal," Winfrey concluded.
