Oscars 2021: Bittu is in Live Action Short Film's Top 10; Tenet shortlisted for Visual Effects, Original Score

Before the nominations for the 93rd Academy Awards will be unveiled on March 15, The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences revealed the shortlists in nine categories for the Oscars 2021. The nine categories include Documentary Feature, Documentary Short Subject, International Feature Film, Makeup and Hairstyling, Music (Original Score), Music (Original Song), Animated Short Film, Live Action Short Film and Visual Effects.

Karishma Dev Dube's directorial Bittu will have Indians rejoicing as the short film made it to Oscars 2021's Top 10 for Best Live Action Short Film category. Lee Isaac Chung's Minari has been shortlisted in two music categories: Original Score and Original Song for Rain Song. Moreover, Christopher Nolan's Tenet has been shortlisted for Visual Effects and Original Score. When it comes to the prestigious International Feature Film category, we have France's Two of Us, Iran's Sun Children and Mexico's I'm No Longer Here in the Top 15. Interestingly, movies from 93 countries were eligible in this particular category.
