Prince Harry and Meghan Markle's controversial exit from the royal family was a topic of grave discussion during Oprah With Meghan and Harry: A CBS Primetime Special. When Oprah asked Harry what his late mother Princess Diana would have felt regarding his and Meghan's fallout with his family, The Duke of Sussex pondered, "I think she would feel very angry with how this has panned out, and very sad. But ultimately, all she’d ever want is for us to be happy."

Furthermore, while revealing how he's been cut off financially by the royal family in the first half/quarter of 2020, Harry confessed, "But I've got what my mum left me and without that, we would not have been able to do this." Elaborating on what he feels Diana's thoughts were regarding his royal exit, Harry added, "So, touching back on what you asked of what my mum would think of this, I think she saw it coming. And I certainly felt her presence throughout this whole process."

"And, for me, I’m just really relieved and happy to be sitting here talking to you with my wife by my side. Because I can’t begin to imagine what it must have been like for her, going through this process by herself all those years ago, because it's been unbelievably tough for the two of us, but at least we had each other," Harry concluded, which Meghan affirmed.
