Prince Harry receives an apology from THIS British tabloid for a false story after suing them

Prince Harry recently received a long-awaited apology along with a retraction from the Mail on Sunday after the Duke of Sussex dragged the publication to court for filing a false story. The British tabloid printed a retraction stating: “An article on 25 October 2020 reported that Prince Harry had been accused by a top general of turning his back on the Royal Marines since withdrawing from his military roles in March and that, in an apparent snub to the Armed Forces, he had failed to reply to a letter from Lord Dannatt, a former Chief of the General Staff,” the statement read via Mirror UK.

“We now understand that Harry has been in contact in a private capacity with individuals in the military including in the Royal Marines to offer informal support since March and that whilst he did not initially receive the letter from Lord Dannatt referred to in the article due to administrative issues he has since replied on becoming aware of it. We apologize to Prince Harry and have made a donation to the Invictus Games Foundation,” the statement concluded.  For the unversed, Prince Harry had been in a legal battle with the outlet and Associated Newspapers Limited (ANL) over the story wich questioned the Prince’s relationship with the Royal Marines after stepping down from his royal role alongside Meghan Markle in January 2020.

If you didn’t know, Prince Harry is not the only one dragging the British press to court after a turmoil-filled year. His wife Meghan Markle is fighting legal battles of her own. The Duchess also sued the same publication over 5 articles published by them in February 2019. The articles violated her privacy and published parts of a handwritten letter she wrote to her estranged father, Thomas Markle, after her marriage to Harry in 2018.

Anonymous : I love this couple. And that nasty paper has continuously said horrible things about them. Good to see them apologise.
