Prince William, Kate Middleton and their three kids are treading or rather flying cautiously after Prince Harry and Meghan Markle were criticised for leaving behind a huge carbon footprint during their recent trips to Spain and France. The Duke and Duchess of Sussex took four trips in a span of 10-11 days and used private jets for each trip burning more fuel per person as opposed to commercial airlines. Meghan and Harry who have time and again voiced their environmental concerns faced severe backlash for their trips.

In the wake of this, Prince William and Kate Middleton along with their family took on an economy airline FlyBe to reach Queen Elizabeth's summer residence of Balmoral Castle, Reuters reported. The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge took a flight from Norwich in eastern England to Aberdeen on Scotland's east coast.

A FlyBe spokesman told CNN, "We were delighted to welcome the Duke and Duchess of Cambridge and their family on board one of our flights again, this time when they flew from Norwich to Aberdeen with our franchise partner, Eastern Airways." While the cost of their tickets was not revealed, the report speculated for the price to be anywhere between USD 89 to USD 303.

Meghan and Harry's action were slammed by netizens who called them out for being hypocrites while championing environmental causes. However, the couple's closest friends came to the support and defended their move. From Elton John to Ellen DeGeneres to Meghan's best friend Jessica Mulroney, the celebs slammed trolls.
