Queen Elizabeth is making a statement. For all eagle-eyed royal fans and animal lovers, this piece of news is all set to come as a pleasant surprise. According to the Queen's dressmaker and confidante Angela Kelly's new book titled, 'The Other Side of the Coin: The Queen, the Dresser and the Wardrobe', Queen Elizabeth has vowed to switch to faux fur. The revelation was made in the new book which delves deeper into the Queen's life.

In the book, Kelly writes, "If Her Majesty is due to attend an engagement in particularly cold weather, from 2019 onwards fake fur will be used to make sure she stays warm." The news naturally was a happy one for animal rights activist who applauded the move. Animal charity Humane Society International/UK said, "We are thrilled that Her Majesty has officially gone fur-free."

Executive Director Claire Bass of the organisation called the queen’s decision “the perfect reflection of the mood of the British public, the vast majority of whom detest cruel fur and want nothing to do with it. Our head of state going fur-free sends a powerful message that fur is firmly out of fashion and does not belong with Brand Britain,” Page Six reported.

The book also shows the Queen in her most informal pose. As per the book, the Queen had years ago told Kelly that she wished to be photographed informally. However, she was obviously advised against it given the implications it could have. The Queen posed irrespective and it shows the monarch posing with her hands in her pocket is a stark contrast to the Queen’s typically formal portraits.
