Rights of Academy Award winner Damien Chazelle’s next film Babylon gets acquired by THIS studio; Find out

The director of ‘La La Land’, Damien Chazelle’s next film ‘Babylon’ based on the time of Hollywood’s Golden Age has been finally picked by a studio after a long search.

Damien Chazelle, the Academy Award winner, made La La Land, Whiplash, Grand Piano and other highly acclaimed films. Now, the French-director has already announced his next project titled as Babylon which is going to take us back in the late 1920s in Hollywood industry. The film is going to focus on the transition to talkies from silent films. Now, Paramount has come forward to gain all the rights of this film that could include Brad Pitt, Emma Stone and many others in the cast list.

This film has been produced by Marc Platt, Olivia Hamilton, Tobey Maguire and Matthew Plouffe. According to reports, Emma would portray Hollywood’s famous sex symbol Clara Bow. On the other side, Pitt is going to play the character of a silent star.

The plot of the film is exceptional. According to the reports from The Hollywood Reporter, Chazelle went to studios with his 180-page script that costs USD 80-$100 million. But, after receiving a lot of rejections, the director cut down the script to reduce its budget. Since the rights have been purchased by Paramount Pictures, they are going to release it worldwide in January 2022 after its limited release on December 25, 2021.
