Robert Pattinson feels Batman is NOT a hero: He’s a complicated character
If you are not aware yet (how could you not!), Robert Pattinson has been roped in to play the new Batman. The actor, who shot to fame with his portrayal as Edward in Twilight, will be filling Ben Affleck's shoes in the Matt Reeves directorial. Robert has become the second youngest actor to don the cape. While Batman is one of the biggest superheroes in DC Comics, Robert has now shared he feels Bruce Wayne's alter superhero ego is not a hero.
Previously, Robert had said he would skeptical of any actor who wants to play a hero. Eventually, the actor is playing Batman, who is a hero as per the comics. When he was asked about his statement in a recent New York Times interview, the actor explained that the DC character was not a hero. He said that Batman is a "complicated" character but not a hero.
"Batman’s not a hero, though. He’s a complicated character. I don’t think I could ever play a real hero — there’s always got to be something a little bit wrong. I think it’s because one of my eyes is smaller than the other one," he said. So what led to Robert joining the Batman? Robert reveals he signed the project due to Matt Reeves.
"I love the director, Matt Reeves, and it’s a dope character. His morality is a little bit off. He’s not the golden boy, unlike almost every other comic-book character. There is a simplicity to his worldview, but where it sits is strange, which allows you to have more scope with the character," he explained.
