Weeks after Marvel Studios and Sony's deal reached a dead end, showing the exit door to Spider-out from MCU, the two studios announced that a new deal was on the table. The new deal between Marvel and Sony allowed Spider-Man to retain his position in MCU. It was also revealed that Marvel supremo Kevin Feige would be involved in the making of Spider-Man 3. The news left fans jumping with joy. Tom Holland and Zendaya were thrilled to be reassociated with Marvel Studios.

However, it seems like this joy is going to be short-lived. A new report suggests that the two-movie deal would be used to plot Spider-Man aka Peter Parker's exit from MCU. According to Comicbook.com, Feige and Marvel Studios will use the two movies to "write Spider-Man out of the Marvel Cinematic Universe, eventually giving Sony full control of the character."

As per the international outlet, one of the two movies will be Spider-Man 3 and the other would be a team-up of sorts. Is it a possible Avengers 5? You never know. Meanwhile, given the tie-up is back on, there are chances one of the Avengers would help Peter tackle the aftermath of Spider-Man's secret identity reveal which took place in Spider-Man: Far From Home. Although this is the current scenario, the report suggests that the dynamics could change and a new deal could be worked up between the two studios. Only time can tell.

Meanwhile, Feige spoke about Spider-Man returning and said, "I am thrilled that Spidey’s journey in the MCU will continue, and I and all of us at Marvel Studios are very excited that we get to keep working on it. Spider-Man is a powerful icon and hero whose story crosses all ages and audiences around the globe. He also happens to be the only hero with the superpower to cross cinematic universes, so as Sony continues to develop their own Spidey-verse you never know what surprises the future might hold.”

Spider-Man 3 is slated to release on July 16, 2021.
