Jake Gyllenhaal was the latest entrant in the MCU (Marvel Cinematic Universe), starring as the illusional Mysterio or Quentin Beck in Spider-Man: Far From Home, who becomes Peter Parker's ally after the latter loses his mentor, Tony Stark aka Iron Man in Avengers: Endgame. *SPOILERS ALERT* However, halfway towards the film, we realise that Quentin is actually the bad guy in the scenario and that he made up the multiverse. The most shocking moment in the Jonn Watts directorial was the epic mid-credits scene which saw Mysterio reveal the true identity of Spider-Man, i.e. Peter Parker.

Jake spoke to ComicBook about the shocking mid-credits scene sharing how he is a fan of epic movie endings, like in his previous movie, Prisoners (2013). The actor feels that it take a lot of courage to leave a film on a cliffhanger. According to Gyllenhaal, Mysterio existed to "teach Peter Parker a lesson," which is growing up for real. "As an audience member, not as the person who played Mysterio, I believe in Peter Parker, and I believe in Spider-Man, his power and how strong he is. What Mysterio reveals will end up helping Peter, somewhere," Jake revealed

Gyllenhaal added, "He’ll learn from it, and those are the best characters. The characters who teach our heroes a lesson don’t always have to be like Obi-Wan."
