It was hard to watch Tony Stark die in Avengers: Endgame. Although Marvel Cinematic Universe fans were mentally prepared for Iron Man's death in the Marvel movie, it still broke everyone down. Although it was hard for fans to comprehend his loss and to come to terms with the fact that Robert Downey Jr will no longer be a part of MCU. It was harder for Spider-Man: Far From Home star Tom Holland. The actor shared an unusual bond with RDJ.

In a recent interview, the actor admitted it wasn't easy for him or his MCU alter-ego Spider-Man to watch the character leave the franchise. Both the stars were seen working together on four movies. Holland was introduced into the MCU through RDJ's Tony Stark in Captain America: Civil War. They went on to share quirky chemistry with the actor and his on-screen MCU character in Spider-Man: Homecoming, Avengers: Infinity War before shedding a tear at the character's death in Avengers: Endgame.

"We had to say goodbye to him. And this film (Spider-Man: Far From Home) is kind of how we deal with a life without our hero, IronMan. Parker had a very special relationship with him. And the film is all about how he deals with it and how he kind of comes into his own," Holland said, as per a PTI report.

The 23-year-old star said he looked up to Downey Jr and working with him was like a dream come true. "RDJ (Downey Jr) means so much to me. He is such a role model for me when I was a kid and before I'd met him. And then to get a chance to work with him and to get to know him was really a dream come true. He holds a special place in my life like Mr Stark does in Spider-Man's journey," Holland added.

"I love Robert. It's kind of reassuring for a young actor like me to meet someone who's at the top of the game. But he is pretty professional, kind and hardworking. He is just a really good guy. So for me, it was a really wonderful experience," he added.

Spider-Man: Far From Home releases on July 2. Apart from Holland, Samuel L Jackson, Zendaya, Cobie Smulders and Jon Favreau reprise their MCU roles in the movie. Jake Gyllenhaal is the new addition to the movie.
