Next month, we will see the end to the iconic Skywalker saga that has been in the hearts of millions of Star Wars fans. Star Wars: The Rise of Skywalker brings back J.J. Abrams in the director's chair, who had earlier helmed Episode VII (2015). While Daisy Ridley, Adam Driver, John Boyega and Oscar Isaac return once again, we will also get to see the late Carrie Fisher as Princess Leia, one last time! Given that there were deleted scenes of Carrie's from The Force Awakens, Abrams made use of those sequences and incorporated them into the highly-awaited movie.

J.J. recently appeared on The Late Show With Stephen Colbert, where he spoke candidly about the upcoming release. While the topic of Carrie Fisher came about, Abrams revealed the uncanny prediction that the actress had made about him in her autobiography, The Princess Diarist. This was at a time when the 53-year-old filmmaker was not yet attached to Episode IX and Carrie passed away before Episode VIII (2017) released. "I remember reading the book and in the end, in the special thanks she thanks me at the very end and she says 'Special thanks to J.J. Abrams for putting up with me twice," J.J. shared with Stephen Colbert.

"I had never worked with her before The Force Awakens and I wasn't supposed to direct Episode IX, and it was a very Carrie thing to write something like that and to somehow know. It was really strange," Abrams added.
