Sadie Sink last starred in the web series Stranger Things, reprising her role as Max Mayfield. Now, following the show’s conclusion, it appears that the actress is all set to headline a new limited series for FX.
Sadie Sink to star in a lead role for FX’s The Marriage Plot?
According to Variety, FX has greenlit a limited series titled The Marriage Plot, with Sadie Sink set to play the lead role. The series is based on the 2011 novel of the same name by author Jeffrey Eugenides. The upcoming show will be directed by Hiro Murai and written by Will Arbery.
The Marriage Plot is set on a 1980s college campus and follows three recent Brown University graduates, Madeleine, Leonard, and Mitchell, as they navigate a complex love triangle. The narrative explores the challenges of young adulthood and questions whether the traditional 19th-century “marriage plot” remains relevant in a modern, feminist world.
The novel is described as both a realistic story about marriage and a commentary on the very kind of story it tells.
With Sadie reportedly set to portray Madeleine, the series will stream on the American platform Hulu. It will be produced by A24 in collaboration with FX Productions.
Sadie Sink’s work front
Sadie Sink was last seen reprising her iconic role as Max Mayfield in Stranger Things. The fifth and final season of the popular sci-fi horror series debuted in two volumes, with the finale arriving on the streaming platform on December 31, 2025.
Alongside Sink, the eight-episode season featured the return of Winona Ryder, David Harbour, Millie Bobby Brown, Finn Wolfhard, Gaten Matarazzo, Caleb McLaughlin, Noah Schnapp, Natalia Dyer, Charlie Heaton, Joe Keery, Maya Hawke, and several others.
While Sadie has remained active in theatre, most recently portraying Juliet Capulet in Romeo & Juliet at the Harold Pinter Theatre in London’s West End, the actress is next set to appear in a pivotal role in Tom Holland’s Spider-Man: Brand New Day.
Directed by Destin Daniel Cretton, the superhero film will continue Peter Parker’s journey following the events of Spider-Man: No Way Home. The movie is slated for release on July 31, 2026, and features an ensemble cast that also includes Zendaya, Jacob Batalon, Jon Bernthal, Tramell Tillman, Michael Mando, Mark Ruffalo, and others.
