It took Marvel Studios almost three months but they managed to break the biggest record with Avengers: Endgame. The Marvel movie released in April and it broke all opening records at the time of the release. The movie went on to hold the number one spot at the box office for weeks, beating movies like John Wick 3, Aladdin and other summer releases. But Marvel Cinematic Universe fans were rooting for Avengers: Endgame to break the record of the highest-grossing movie of all time. The record was held by Avatar until this weekend. This weekend, Avengers: Endgame surpassed Avatar to become the highest-grossing movie of all time. 

According to Deadline, Avengers: Endgame has surpassed Avatar‘s $2.7897 billion worldwide box collection. Kevin Feige confirmed the news about the movie breaking the record at the San Diego Comic-Con 2019. The Marvel head, who was at SDCC for a Marvel panel to announce MCU Phase 4, shared the good news. Following the news, the Russo Brothers took to social media and thanked their fans. 

After which, Thor actor Chris Hemsworth took to social media and thanked Avengers: Endgame fans. The actor will reprise his God of Thunder role for Thor: Love and Thunder. He is likely to handover the mantle and the Mjnolir to Jane Foster played by Natalie Portman. The actress will become the first female Thor of MCU. The movie will see Tessa Thompson reprise her Thor: Ragnarok and Avengers: Endgame role for Thor 4. Thor: Love and Thunder is slated to release in 2021.
