Marvel Cinematic Universe fans had a roller-coaster summer after Sony and Disney's deal reached an impasse showing Spider-Man the exit door from MCU. Peace was eventually restored after Disney CEO Bob Iger obliged to Tom Holland's request to bring Peter Parker's alter-ego back to his MCU home. Iger had previously revealed that Holland made an emotional phone call to the Mouse House head and brought Sony and Disney to the negotiation table. Holland recently appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! and spilled the beans on the life-changing call.

However, before he could make the call, Holland revealed he was devastated at the D23 Expo. The Spider-Man: Far From Home star was at the biannual Disney event as part of his upcoming animated movie Onward. It was around the same time when Spider-Man's exit from MCU made the headlines. Given the development, Holland wasn't allowed to pose with his Avengers: Endgame co-stars.

The restriction left Holland devasted. "We were at D23, which is the big Disney convention, and the news (of Sony and Disney's deal ending). I was obviously devastated. I was upset and all my Marvel friends were there and they were taking like Marvel pictures and I was like (makes a sad face), not allowed to be in them. It was awful," he recalled. "It wasn't the best day," he added.
