Toy Story franchise is one of the most popular franchises of all generations. It is an animated film series. The first ever Toy Story movie was released on November 19, 1995. It is almost 24 years since the first movie premiered in theatres. The second movie Toy Story 2 premiered in theatres on November 13, 1999 in the US. Toy Story 3 released on June 12, 2010. It has been 24 years since the first movie was released. Recently, in June 2019, Toy Story 4 was released. Toy Story 2 earned Top Box Office Films of 2000 Award with several other nominations and wins. It was one of the highest grossing films of 1999. The film earned around USD 497.4 million worldwide. 

Toy Story is set in the world where even toys have feelings and emotions and can talk with each other. The plot revolves around a kid named Andy and his toys. His favourite toy Woody worries that he will be replaced with Andy's new toy Buzz Lightyear. Toy Story began as an extension of Pixar's short Tin Toy, which featured Tinny, a mechanical drummer who tries to find his way in a baby's playroom. With its re-release in 2009, they included the short film of Tin Toy.

1] The number "95" appears quite often throughout the 3 films. This is in reference to the year the original Toy Story was released which is 1995. 

 

 

 

 

 

2] Toy Story is in the Guinness Book of World Records. As the movie broke the record of being the first feature length computer animated movie. The movie earned around USD 373,554,033 over a budget of USD 30 Million and it was the highest grossing movie of 1995.

 

 

3]  The original title of the movie was supposed to be ‘You are a toy’. 

 

 

4] Animators strapped boards to their feet to figure out how to animate the toy soldiers in the movie as they wanted it to be precise on how the toy soldiers would walk. 

 

 

5] Buzz Lightyear was named after the famous astronaut Buzz Aldrin, the second man who walked on Moon.
