The Royals make every appearance of theirs a noteworthy one. From supporting charity associations to taking part in sporting events for a greater cause, Prince William, Kate Middleton, Prince Harry and Meghan Markle are making a positive impact every step of the way. One such event that made a huge difference was the 2017 Christmas outing. Turns out, that a simple Christmas picture featuring four members of UK’s Royal family has earned the woman who clicked it a whopping paycheck.

According to reports, Karen Anvil, a single mother, shot to fame after she managed to click a candid picture of William, Kate, Meghan and Harry when they had stepped out on Christmas Day in 2017. The four royals were captured while walking St Mary Magdalene Church, on the Sandringham estate in Norfolk. Back then, Kate Middleton was pregnant with Prince Louis and Harry and Meghan had made their first public appearance after announcing their engagement.

After 'screaming like a fan-girl' to get their attention, Karen managed to take a candid close-up that ended up on front pages around the world – and later said the photo had changed her and daughter's lives forever. Speaking about how that picture changed her life, Karen told The Sun, "My heart pounded as I looked up and saw William, Kate, Meghan, and Harry striding towards me, smiling and waving as they arrived for the Christmas Day service. All of them except for William looked directly at me. I took a snap with my phone and didn’t think anything of it."

She then went on to share the photo on Twitter and in no time media and news publications began calling her to ask if they could use the picture. A photographer told Karen that charging money for the picture would be a good idea. And Karen couldn't believe the huge sums of money news outlets were willing to shell out for a simple photo.

The royalty cheques started arriving soon after and the first one was for a staggering 15,000 Pounds. Since then, Karen has earned more than 40,000 Pounds (approx Rs 34.4 lakhs). She revealed that the photo changed her financial status completely including her mental and physical health. “I also revamped my home for the first time in years. We had the bathroom and kitchen retiled, new floors put down and new bedroom furniture," Karen told The Sun.
