At Clash of Champions 2019, Seth Rollins and Braun Strowman had their work cut out for them as they not only had to battle each other for the WWE Universal Championship but the two also had to defend their RAW Tag-Team Championships against Dolph Ziggler and Bobby Roode. Starting off the show was the tag-team bout where Seth and Braun were a well-oiled machine and dominated most of the bout. However, The Monster Amongst Men knocked down The Beastslayer, by accident, which cost them the Raw Tag-Team titles. Eventually, Bobby took advantage of Strowman's accident and pinned Rollins with a Glorious DDT.

We then have the main event where Seth and Braun tried to one-up the other in order to claim the Universal Championship. Knowing his opponent's agility, Strowman tried for a powerslam but the current champ was able to escape and hit a series of superkicks and a frog splash. However, he could only manage a two-count. While Braun took over control, Rollins was able to deliver two suicide dives, one over the fragile table. The third attempt at a suicide dive was stopped but what followed was a superkick instead.

After a failed attempt to suplex The Monster Amongst Men, the challenger instead delivered a top-rope splash. Seth was extremely close to losing his championship but escaped. Once Rollins recovered, he delivered three back-to-back stomps on Strowman, but each time, Braun was able to kick out of the pin. The champ was rapped in a powerslam position which was dodged by him and eventually, a pedigree and a fourth stomp sealed the win for Seth.

While it seemed like a happy ending for Rollins, such was not the case, courtesy of Bray Wyatt, now known as The Fiend. The Fiend appeared out of nowhere and hit Seth with the Sister Abigail. This was followed by the mandible claw. In classic Wyatt style, the entire arena was filled in darkness and all that was left was The Fiend's terrifying laughter.
