Seth Rollins is currently the Universal Champion of WWE and also the spokesperson for the wrestling company. In various interviews, The Beastslayer has promoted WWE as the must-watch, top-tier wrestling company and any other show pales in comparison to his current employment. More particularly, the shots are taken at AEW, which is slowly finding its firm rooting in the sports entertainment business. Given the fact that former WWE employees like Jon Moxley, Chris Jericho and Cody Rhodes are now in AEW, the wrestling war has indeed intensified.

During a panel at the Fandemic Tour Houston 2019, along with fiancée and Raw Women's Champion Becky Lynch, Seth was asked if he would like a chance to wrestle AEW employee Kenny Omega at Wrestlemania to determine who the best wrestler in the world is. To this, Rollins took a shot at Kenny and AEW as he said, "When Kenny's done playing in the minor leagues over there, Kenny can come work at the absolute top professional wrestling company in the world, in front of the most people, and make the most money, and have the biggest matches, which is with me at WrestleMania."

During a media interaction for SummerSlam 2019, Seth got candid about his feelings regarding former Shield brother Moxley joining AEW. "Now he's competition, now he's the one trying to take dinner off my table so good on him but we're going to do our best to continue to be the best here at WWE and those guys want to step up to the big leagues to give it a shot? Then by all means but we're going to knock them dead just like we do everybody else," Rollins confessed.
