WWE star Ashley Massaro passes away at 39, Mick Foley and Bayley pay their tributes

Ashley Massaro, who was a part of WWE from 2005 to 2008, has passed away at the age of 39. Wrestlers like Mick Foley, Bayley, Maria Kanellis and Torrie Wilson have paid touching tributes to Ashley.

In some heartbreaking news for the day, former WWE superstar Ashley Massaro has sadly passed away at the young age of just 39, according to BBC. She was in her home in Long Island and died on the way to the hospital. Suffolk County Police stated that the wrestler died of "non-criminal causes". WWE issued a statement saying, "We are saddened to learn of the tragic death of former WWE Superstar Ashley Massaro. She performed in WWE from 2005-2008 and was beloved by her fellow Superstars and fans around the world. WWE offers its condolences to Ashley’s family and friends."

Ashley's dear friends and colleagues from WWE took to their social media handles to offer their condolences. Maria Kanellis tweeted, "I have no words. Ashley was my tag partner at Wrestlemania. My sometimes road wife. We did countless photo shoots and press days together. It seems like yesterday Ashley was a major part of my life and then our worlds changed and now she is gone. I'm heartbroken for her family."


On the other hand, Torrie Wilson wrote, "I can’t even begin to explain how devastated I am to hear about @ashleymassaro11 - legit one of the sweetest people I’ve ever known. When we fall into a dark place it can seem like it will never change but if you are there PLEASE keep hope & reach out for help."

WWE Legend Mick Foley tweeted, "This is just awful news - Ashley Massaro is gone. She was only 39. She lived in the same town as me...I loved seeing her around. She was always so nice...and now she’s gone. #RIPAshleyMassaro," and Bayley simply wrote, "Ashley Massaro. Thank you for the memories.."

Ashley was a part of WWE from 2005 to 2008 and has been a part of two Wrestlemanias. She got her big break when she won the RAW Diva Search in 2005 and won a $250,000 one-year contract.
