Yuvraj Singh rues that he could never settle with any IPL franchise, despite being one of the most sought after T20 players from India in his prime.

The left-hander, who retired from international and IPL cricket last month, represented six teams in the IPL, and was part of two winnings teams - Sunrisers Hyderabad in 2016 and Mumbai Indians this year.

In 2014, Yuvraj was the most expensive player in the IPL history after he was caught in a bidding war between Royal Challengers Bangalore and Kolkata Knight Riders. The RCB team finally bought him for Rs 14 crore.

However, he failed to make a mark, and his IPL career never really took off. He started his IPL journey with Kings XI Punjab as an icon player, but unlike Virat Kohli and MS Dhoni, who became the face of RCB and Chennai Super Kings respectively, Yuvraj failed to be the face of any team.

"I can't explain but I was never settled with a franchise. I didn't really get settled where you are made to play for one franchise or maybe two," Yuvraj said.

"I almost joined KKR but last moment (in the auctions) I went to RCB. I probably had my best IPL season with RCB. It was unfortunate not to come to KKR," he recalled.

This year he was unsold in the first round of the auctions, before getting sold to Mumbai Indians for Rs. 1 crore in the second round.

"I can't really complain about it. It was great working with all these teams. Being with Mumbai Indians and winning the championship, and also winning for Sunrisers was a great experience," Yuvraj said.
