Legendary Indian batsman, Sachin Tendulkar was all praises of the Indian opener and said that his batting is poetry in motion. While speaking to India Today, Tendulkar praised the Indian batsman and said that he is fantastic and is poetry in motion because not many players possesses the kind of bat swing he has. He also mentioned that Rohit is a class apart when it comes to the smooth swing. You could see the effort put in when he hit that six was minimal. A number of guys have multiple bat swings but not a clean swing. Rohit's swing is like a pendulum," added Sachin.

Rohit Sharma is currently the highest run-scorer in the tournament with 647 runs in his hand. He has been in an exceptional form in the on-going World Cup and has showcased brilliant consistency with the bat. Sachin Tendulkar also appreciated the way he played against Sri Lanka and said that it was a fantastic, all round performance. He also added that along the way, the team got better and better and it had been a convincing victory against the Lankans.

The Indian team, after defeating Sri Lanka ended their league stage by claiming the top position in the points table. The team will play the first semi-finals in the tournament, tomorrow i.e. July 9 at 3 PM IST against New Zealand at Old Trafford cricket ground, Manchester.
