Lockie Ferguson has played a prominent role for the Black Caps and will be all set to play against the Men in Blue post his hamstring injury. He has managed to claim crucial wickets for the team in pressure situations and will be the key player in this big clash at Manchester.

However, when it comes to this encounter at the semi-finals, India is usually considered the favourites in this match. "I guess in World Cups obviously big games get pumped up and where we stand is the fourth going into the semi-finals so naturally I guess they back India," Lockie Ferguson added.

He also said that as New Zealanders, they are often considered to be the underdogs and that’s the position that they like to be in. He said that it’s a knockout cricket now; the better team will go through. New Zealand has played some exceptional cricket throughout the tournament and has managed to claim a spot in the top four. Lockie added that they have played some good cricket to get to the point where they are to play the semi-finals. He said that it all counts on the day and the team is looking forward for the challenge ahead.

"As a team, we definitely want to be the scrappers and guys that scrap for wins and not always do we win pretty,” Lockie added. He also mentioned that the team kind of pride themselves on coming back from tough situations and scrap their way out of it.
