Inspired by the home and away jerseys that are usually used in football, the ICC applied similar rule in the on-going World Cup tournament to avoid jersey clashes in the tournament. However, the hosts, England will receive the home advantage and can retain their original jersey colour throughout the tournament. Any team playing against the hosts will have to change their jerseys and play in the away kit. Here, Virat Kohli led Men in Blue will be playing against England on June 30 at Edgbaston and will step into the field in their away kit.

According to the reports, the team has decided to go with orange as their away colour with stripes of blue on the collar. Most of the teams excluding India have already revealed their away jerseys. South Africa was seen in yellow against Bangladesh, whilst Bangladesh was seen in bright red in the warm-up matches. However, there are several teams like New Zealand, Australia and West Indies that are exempted from having an alternative jersey due to their unique jersey colours.

The Indian cricket team will be all set to reveal their new jersey in the coming week. However, according to a manufacturing executive, the Men in Blue themselves saw their new kit for the first time last week.

There are still speculations of whether the team will have to don their new kit against Afghanistan on Saturday, June 22. However, it is likely that the team will wear orange against England on June 30.
