The Indian squad showcased an all-round performance by their exceptional batting and bowling skills in their second match. Shikhar Dhawan’s stellar knock of 117 deliveries of 109 balls helped the Men in Blue defeat the defending champions in the tournament. India had a dream batting performance with almost all their batting rising up to the expectations. Opener, Rohit Sharma scored a brilliant 57 runs of 70 balls along with skipper, Virat Kohli who managed to get 82 runs of 77 deliveries. Hardik Pandya, MS Dhoni and KL Rahul also contributed towards the end with their hard-hitting batting abilities.

The Indian skipper said that it was a top win for the team after losing the series in India and that they had a point to prove. He mentioned that they came with the right intention from ball one and their opening partnership was outstanding.

He also said that the team showed outstanding bowling effort on a good batting track. You cannot take your bowling lightly just because you have 350 on board, mentioned Virat.

Both Jasprit Bumrah and Bhuvneshwar Kumar showed great content in their bowling and picked up 3 wickets each for the team.

The skipper was seen extremely pleased with India’s all-round performance in the game and would be all set to focus on their next game at Trent Bridge stadium.

India will play its next match against the Black Caps on Thursday, June 13, at Trent Bridge stadium.
