India and New Zealand will face each other in the first semi-finals of the World Cup 2019 at Manchester. While India are the in-form team, losing just one of their eight games in the edition thus far, New Zealand have lost their last three games and just managed to limp through into the semis, courtesy a superior Net Run Rate.

However, past records will matter for little as the two top teams get ready to face each other. While India's batting has been led by the ever-reliable Rohit Sharma, who has five hundreds to his name in the edition and tops the run-scoring charts, New Zealand will look to Trent Boult to send the Indian opener back early.

Though the league game between the two sides was washed out, Boult got the better of Rohit in the warm-up game that preceded the event. The delivery had straightended after pitching - a ball that often comes to trouble the Indian - as he was LBW.

Rohit is not the best player of swing bowling - something that Boult excels in. With the conditions expected to be cloudy as well, Boult will get help from the conditions, and he will be raring to send the premier batsman back early. Rohit will have to be careful against Boult's inswinger and his deliveries that angle away from the middle and the leg. Though he fared well against left-arm seamers Mitchell Starc and Mohammed Amir in the tournament, Rohit's poor form against Boult - he has scored only 88 runs off his bowling at a strike rate of 64 and been dismissed by him 4 times - can create a psychological impact.
