The Men in Blue who ended their league stage at the top of the points table will encounter the Black Caps today in the semi-finals of World Cup 2019. India has been extremely consistent throughout the entire tournament and has lost only one game in this on-going World Cup, against the hosts. The 2011 World Cup champions will look forward to reach the finals and bring the cup back home after eight years. Let’s have a look at their key players.

1. Jasprit Bumrah- One of the major reasons of India’s consistency in the tournament has been their balanced and attacking bowling unit, which has risen up to the occasion and defended low totals in the tournament for the team. Jasprit Bumrah is definitely the team’s most reliable bowler and the team’s greatest strength. This Indian bowler has claimed 17 wickets, being the third highest wicket-taker in the tournaments so far. In the match against Sri Lanka, he claimed three crucial wickets with an exceptional economy of 3.70 and was the highest wicket-taker for the team.

2. Rohit Sharma- This Indian opening batsman is in his best form in the current World Cup tournament. He has smashed five centuries in the tournament so far and third consecutive one in the game against Sri Lanka. It wouldn’t be wrong to conclude that India’s batting line-up has been highly dependent on this batsman. Rohit is also the highest run scorer in the tournament so far with 647 runs in his hand. In the clash against Sri Lanka, he smashed a brilliant 103 runs off 94 deliveries with a strike rate of 109.57.
