The latest from Nottingham is that clouds have started bursting and it’s drizzling since the morning. The match between India and New Zealand at Trent Bridge is most likely to be a rain-hit encounter. The weather forecast says that there are around 80-90 percent chances of a downpour.

The constant rain at the venue on Tuesday forced players to remain indoors as practice sessions were canceled. Pertinently, the showers might again become a roadblock when two teams come out later today. Meanwhile, owing to the ruthless weather of England, three matches of the ongoing World Cup 2019 have already been washed out.

Now, the chances are on the higher side for one more such match at Nottingham today. Both India and New Zealand won’t be too happy to witness a washout as they have been playing some quality cricket in the tournament. The Kiwis stand at top of the table with three wins in as many matches. They looked dominating in all the three departments and hence bagged the positive results.

India too is unbeaten in the two matches they played thus far. The Men in Blue first pipped struggling South Africa in the first match and cruised past Australia in the second. However, India, having lost to New Zealand in the warm-up game, could feel a bit of pressure when facing Kiwis.  Nonetheless, at now it seems like both the teams might have to settle for a point each if the match was called off.
