Rain on Tuesday returned to halt ICC Cricket World Cup 2019 as India vs New Zealand semi-final encounter was interrupted midway at the Old Trafford in Manchester. The clouds started bursting when New Zealand was 211/5 in the 47th over of first innings. There was still some drizzle going on at the time this report was filed, however, the good news being the slow down of rain.

According to the Duckworth-Lewis method, India could be facing these scenarios:

If New Zealand innings were called off at this stage, India will be chasing 237 runs in 46 overs. While if more time was lost, the Men in Blue will have to chase down 148 runs in the least 20 overs. The target will be 172 in 25 overs, 192 in 30 overs and 237 in 40 overs.

Subsequently, if it continued to rain at the Old Trafford, the match will begin from the stage it stopped, tomorrow on reserve day.

Meanwhile, India won’t be too happy if many overs were cut as they will be chasing the higher while Kiwis, on the other hand, would like to have India chasing 148 runs in the 20 overs.
