The game between these two teams is often driven with a little extra intensity and it wouldn’t be different in this on-going tournament. Pakistani batsman Imam-Ul-Haq believes that the encounter against India at Old Trafford is a must win in order to move ahead in the tournament. He also mentioned that as one of their matches was called off in the tournament that was extremely crucial for them, every game in the tournament will be an important one for the team from now on. After getting defeated by the defending champions, Australia by 41 runs in a game on Wednesday, 12th June, Pakistan moved back to 8th position in the points table.

When asked about the high intensity game of India and Pakistan, the batsman replied, “Obviously, to be part of that kind of game, it’s great. It’s in Manchester, lots of Pakistani fans there – so I’m really excited about this. It’s a huge pressure game, obviously.”

He added, “Pakistan and India, there’s a lot of mysteries behind that but we want to just focus on our cricket strengths and how we can get better.”

Imam has been in a great form in the tournament and was the highest run-scorer for the team in the game against the Aussies (53 off 75 deliveries). Against England, he scored a solid 44 off 58 deliveries before giving away his wicket to Moeen Ali. His form will be crucial for the Men in Green to bounce back in the tournament.
