Pakistan lost its previous game against the Aussies by a huge margin of 41 runs at Taunton on Wednesday. Pakistani skipper, Sarfaraz Ahmed believes that in order to defeat the Men in Blue, the team will need to raise their fielding standard in the game. The Pak players dropped 3 catches in the match against Australia which led them to yet another loss in the World Cup tournament.

Ahead of their clash against their arch rivals, India, the Pakistani skipper stated that the team needs to improve if they want to beat bigger teams like Australia and India. He mentioned that all three aspects of the game play a crucial role in a win.

Ahmed also stated that the team gave away 25 extra runs that resulted in their defeat against the Aussies and also their batsman failed to deliver a big knock in the game.

“Definitely, I think the fielding needs improvement. The fielding is not up to the mark. We need to work together again and work hard before the India match,” said Sarfaraz.

Pakistan has never defeated the Men in Blue in the 6 World Cup matches dating back to 1992 and the recent form of both the teams showcases that history may repeat itself at Manchester on Sunday.

Pakistan will play against the Men in Blue who have had a tremendous start in the World Cup tournament by defeating South Africa and Australia in their first two matches. Both the teams will face each other on the field on Sunday, June 16 at Old Trafford Cricket Ground, Manchester.
